Just found out I need to do a nuclear stress test because my regular stress test came back "iffy". Umm scary... anyone else have to do this?

I have had a nuclear stress test and it was less scary than it sounded. My dr said that it was actually less stress on me than a treadmill test would have been. It lasted about 15 minutes. They give you medication and for me, it just made me feel a bit warm. I had to talk and answer some questions and I had a few minutes I felt a little breathless, but nothing scary. I was okay because I had been told that if anything were to happen, they had something they would give me to automatically stop the test. You will do just fine. Best to you!

I had a nuclear stress test a year and a half ago - I actually had the injection then ran the treadmill.... it turned out fine. I did go to the gym though first and warmed up on the treadmill, then stretched - I have an artificial knee and my hips sometimes need to loosen up.

And next time ask what the heck technical term 'iffy' is....that says nothing - is it an st elevation -or r wave or what exactly.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah "iffy" kind of scared me. I had an abnormal EKG, but my echo came back ok. I have severe anxiety so my heart rate was already high before I even got on the treadmill so I'm thinking that had something to do with it. I'm hoping all goes well.

I had one this year. Not a big deal at all. Mine showed nothing wrong after some iffy tests. Praying the same for you.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
