Nope. Sorry. Should slow down and stop by 12 months postop.

I'm in the same boat...

Just be patient and go with the flow. I started losing mine 5 months post op. I am now almost 10 months and the Hair loss has stopped. Keep getting your Protein and Biotin. Hopefully all will be good

Is there anything I can do to stop my Hair loss, I'm 4 months post op.

I'm taking bari melts Biotin chewable and keeping up with my Protein. My hair is thinning around edges and I'm 4 weeks out.

In my experience, nothing is gonna stop the Hair loss. I started Biotin 2 weeks pre-op and have taken it daily since. I've gotten in 60-90 grams of Protein daily since post op week 2. hair loss started gradually in week 10. Now at week 12 it's really coming out. Thankfully I had thick hair to start with. All I'm hoping is that the loss isn't noticeable to others. I guess we all have to ask ourselves: would we rather be overweight and unhealthy with no hair loss, or thinner and healthier with a bit less hair? I'll take the latter every time!

Hair loss usually starts at about 3 months postop and lasts until 7-9 months postop. It'll start regrowing at about 12 months postop.

It's the operation its self that causes the loss. Anyone that has major surgery or illness might lose hair in a similar fashion.

There really isn't anything that we can do, except keep up with our nutrition so when it's time to regrow, it can have a healthy start.

Mine shed big time at month 5. I'm now at month 10. It stoped around month 7 and now I'm doing all sorts of homemade treatments to regrow. Vitamins on target but Water intake is a huge problem for me and I also think it didn't help my Hair loss issues.

I had the sleeve. My Hair loss started around 3-4 months and is still going strong at 9 months post op. Every time I show it is scary, my hair is so thin now.

This has me very worried, as I already have thin fine hair.....wah wah....

And going on a cruise 3.5 months after surgery....hope it waits until after that if it happens. It seems very individual as to when, how much, and how long.

Same story. Started losing at 3 months, now at 7 months slowing down. I got a layered bob to help look fuller and stopped blow drying, dying and ponytail s. I started doing a trim once a month to try to stop split ends because it’s dry as well. Looking a little better, hair dresser said new Hair growth visible will take several months to grow in.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
