Harpgirl 0 Posted October 16, 2007 I've been banded around two and a half years, in that time I have only lost around 42 lbs. I am sick when I eat most foods, have bad head hunger, and can't have a fill as my surgeon won't do them if the patient is being sick. I'm active and try hard to eat properly Now I'm afraid this is not going to work for me. Lately the sickness has increased and I'm very down about the whole situation. Can anyone help? Thanks for reading, Kitty
socalgal3 4 Posted October 16, 2007 By sick, you mean you are PBing? I would say start at square 1. Make sure you take small bites, measure your food and chew, chew, chew, eat SLOWLY-literally put your fork down between bites or get up and walk around between bites. If you are in a PB cycle, you may be swollen. Try doing liquids for 24-48 hours to reduce internal swelling. Once you get a week or 2 without a PB, schedule a fill with your doc. Head hunger is a tough one, but KEEP BUSY is my best advice. Go for a walk, clean your house, catch up on a hobby you've been neglecting! Make sure you drink all of your water! Keeping hydrated can help with hunger. Hang in there! This CAN work for you. Don't give up.
WASaBubbleButt 41 Posted October 17, 2007 I agree with the above post. In addition, get rid of ALL the crap foods in your house. Only grocery shop when you have just eaten and you are not hungry and don't buy more crap food. Get to the basics as written above.
Harpgirl 0 Posted October 17, 2007 Hi, yes I have been pb-ing. I've made a new start today, shopping only for healthy food and I'm doing liquids only for 48 hours to start. I appreciate your replies, I think I need to work on my outlook and stop thinking of myself as a band failure. Thanks, Kitty
