Nancy MBGC 90 Posted September 26, 2017 Please help me out here. I have a lack of understanding about "cream soup". Does that mean like a can of Tomato Soup made with milk? Does it mean black bean Soup that has been puréed! What about pea soup or broccoli cheese soup that has been puréed? 1 GeTnBackuP reacted to this

Rannem 9 Posted September 26, 2017 I believe "creamed" is blended, not the addition of cream/milk. At least that's what it means to me, 7 days post-op and hoping to move to puréed foods later this week!! 3 GeTnBackuP, Star Dust and Nancy MBGC reacted to this
Nancy MBGC 90 Posted September 26, 2017 Ok then what bought types and brands did you find to be most tasty when blended? I'm not much of a canned Soup lover. I could use some help on this subject. Thanks
Sullie06 1,013 Posted September 26, 2017 (edited) Cream Soups to me were anything like Cream of chicken, Cream of Mushroom (blended), Cream of Cheddar, Creamy Carrot, Broccoli Cheddar (strained) or Tomato. I ate a lot of Cream of Chicken on my full liquid and pureed diet. Edited September 26, 2017 by Sullie06 2 Nancy MBGC and DropWt4Life reacted to this
ZinNH 173 Posted September 26, 2017 I've never liked Soup, but after the two week pre-op diet and a few days of Clear Liquids, I have really enjoyed the cream of chicken soup. My nut said to go with the healthy versions, but I've been alternating between the regular and lighter versions of cream of chicken soup. I've been doubling the milk, and blending it to make sure any chunks are pulverized. 1 Nancy MBGC reacted to this
sy2053 4 Posted September 26, 2017 That just means Soups that have more consistency than broth. Any Soup not broth (beef, chicken, veggie broth like you cook with) is a "cream". Tomato Soup, cream of chicken, mushroom, cheese, French onion, etc. My favorite is Tomato soup. When I get to the point of solid foods (I'm 6 days post-op) I will be making cauliflower "grilled cheese" and tomato soup so I feel like I'm indulging [emoji23]. The one I've used in the past is by Buzzfeed if you ever want to look directly at the recipe! The only thing I switch out is the cheese used for change and regular parmesan not vegan! JeffN 106 Posted September 27, 2017 (edited) I am starting the cream Soup phase now. The issue is what you use to eat and what you can eat now has changed. I loved cream based can soup's but I am having a hard time with them now. I now make my own from scratch and they seem to taste and go down better. Nancy MBGC 90 Posted September 28, 2017 My surgeon made it clear no milk or cream in the Soup. Creamed equals puréed.
