James Marusek 5,244 Posted September 25, 2017 Pain can be a sign something is wrong. I hope you find out what the problem is in your follow-up meeting (or sooner). You might refer to your hospital discharge directions. Mine indicated the time to contact your physician for pain was as follow: Uncontrolled or increased abdomen pain. Shortness of breath or calf pain (possible signs of blood clot). New onset of upper back or left shoulder pain. Chest pain, rapid heartbeat and or dizziness. Changes in your incision - new pain, swelling, redness, cloudy drainage. 3 Sexycubita, Berry78 and OmaJ reacted to this
Berry78 4,261 Posted September 25, 2017 I agree with James. Things should feel the same or better than when you left the hospital. There should be a gradual, but consistent "getting better". If suddenly you are feeling worse and worse, that's a sign that there could be a problem. Call your doc now or go to the ER. Hope everything is ok! 2 OmaJ and Sexycubita reacted to this

genia22 23 Posted September 27, 2017 Hello, I too am having tremendous pain on my right side. It happens when I move, cough, sneeze or lift my right leg. The nurse practitioner said that it's incisional pain. I'm on Tylenol Syrup for pain med and it doesn't work well. So I found on Walmart 's website a Tylenol syrup extra strength adult formula. It's 500mg per tablespoon and the dose is two tablespoon which is 1000 mg. Now this hits the spot! My doctor approved it. So now my pain is better controlled. Berry78 4,261 Posted October 6, 2017 Your cut shouldn't be open. You need to go back in and be seen.

That is an emergency. My surgeon told me not to take any NSAIDS or meds that could make me bleed. This is especially a reason to call your surgeon.
