ChloeGrudz 1 Posted September 25, 2017 Hi everyone, New to this site - This topic may have already been covered elsewhere. I'm in Australia and looking to get my Gastric Sleeve done in July/August next year, I have to wait due to insurance wait times. I would like to know who has used what for their liquid diet, I'd like to lose some weight before I have the sleeve done and am giving myself plenty of time to do so. Thanks

charliebarry 6 Posted September 25, 2017 You should talk to a registered dietician before starting a liquid diet. Since you're looking at a year out I'd focus on eating healthier instead of a liquid diet. I've been on mine for about a week and it's barely tolerable, there's no way I could maintain that for a year. 1 ChloeGrudz reacted to this

Its really hard for the 7-14 days we are supposed to do it, it would be impossible for you to start it now, right now you have to focus on eating healthy, changing old bad habits and creating good ones. Your dietician will help you through it. I am on my 2nd day of the pre-op diet and I am working hard to stay focused. Good luck to you... 1 ChloeGrudz reacted to this

Yeah I've been thinking about going to a dietitian about it first, I'm thinking about doing Optifast for 12 weeks ish. I'll speak to them about that first. Wasn't thinking about doing it for a year, if i could manage that I think the weight would come off! Haha. I'm thinking about doing the 12 week Optifast program.
