Peanut 0 Posted October 16, 2007 I have a horrible pain in my left side, near the bottom of my ribs. It feels like when you run and get a stitch (or charley horse) in your side -- that is really the only thing I can compare it to. I am at work and I cannot sit in a comfortable position to make it stop hurting. The only time that it is somewhat alleviated is when I lie down at night. Does anyone know what this could be and why?? My port is on my right side, so I know it's not from that.
gotta be me 0 Posted October 16, 2007 Peanut, I also have pain exactly where you have described. I had to give up aquasize because the pain would get so bad during the exercises. I asked my regular doctor about it and he thought maybe since I have lost weight things are sifting--not sure I believe that, but have no other explanation. Hopefully, someone on here can enlighten us. <a href="Weight Loss - Diet Ticker"> <img border="0" src="<A href="http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/whrPWlL/weight.png"></a">http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/whrPWlL/weight.png"></a>
daymi 0 Posted October 19, 2007 Ok I Have The Same Pain And My Doctor Says He Has Not Heard Anybody Complaining About That Type Of Pain, Does It Happen After You Eat Or Drink.
angel3 0 Posted October 20, 2007 I have also had this pain on my left side right under the ribs after I have eaten. Don't know what the cause is either. I thought I was the only one with this problem. I am 3 weeks out of surgery and it has eased up somewhat. It would be helpful if someone could enlighten me as well as to what this is. Peanut 0 Posted October 21, 2007 Yes, sometimes it does seem like it is after I eat. Other times, it comes about for no discernible reason at all... I wish we could figure this out! It's very uncomfortable...
Peanut 0 Posted October 21, 2007 angel, I am also about 3 weeks post-surgery. I wonder if there is any correlation there? What about the rest of you?
cutechic1977 0 Posted October 22, 2007 you know I have the same pain... but its on my right side. It comes and goes. Its either first thing in the morning or off and on during the day. Puzzled to what it could be?? I will be seeing the Dr tomorrow..
Hopping To It 25 Posted October 22, 2007 Hi, I have not been banded yet however I have had the same exact pain you are describing for a month or longer, they tell me it is a hyadel hernia and they will fix it during banding. It is on the left side under my ribcage and at times it is a charlie horse and other times it is like the start of a charlie horse. I think you should have it checked by your DR. gotta be me 0 Posted October 23, 2007 Hopping To It, I never considered a hyadel hernia because I was also told if I had one it would be fixed at the time of the surgery. I never noticed this pain before surgery. I was banded on 7/6/06 and have had it off and on for over a year. The worst times for me were when we’d do twisting kinds of exercises in aqua size; it got so bad I quit going. It does hurt other times for apparently no reason; just not as bad as during exercises. I’ll check out the hyadel hernia angle though. Thanks.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p>
bookholder 0 Posted October 24, 2007 I am 1 month out and woke up with this pain this morning. Based on the location it feels like my band is pushing on my diaphragm, and it is more painful when I beathe deeply. I have not noticed it getting worse when I eat. I felt the same kind of pain right after surgery when I was full of gas. I hope this goes away soon, as it really is uncomfortable.
TheCapn 0 Posted November 3, 2007 I had/have the same type of pain after surgery, but only after I ate. And the amount of pain seemed to be dependent on how much I ate. The more eaten, the more pain. I don't recall it ever being random, only after I ate. Always in the same spot, just below my left ribs. But, lately, the pain has gone away, even when I eat etc. I was banded Sept. 17. Danielle2649 0 Posted November 5, 2007 Hi Guys! I don't know if I experienced the same pain, but a couple of weeks out from my surgery, even past the 1 month mark, I had a pain on my left side from time to time. It felt like a muscle pain or cramp. I asked my doctor and he said that it was from the surgery. He said that they have to put the scope in on that side and up under your ribs and that takes a long time to heal up internally. I would use a heating pad sometimes and try not to bend too much on that side. It doesn't bother me anymore, 4 months out. Always ask your doctor if its exterme pain, but I would bet its probably from the scope they use during the surgery. Hope this helps!
Holy Cow 0 Posted November 5, 2007 Thank you for the info. I was beginning to think it was an absess
MC Cindy 0 Posted November 6, 2007 I had surgery on oct 11, i have pain on the left side and it is really puffy in that area. did you have any puffing there...it looks like it is sticking out. thenume 2 Posted November 8, 2007 I have the exact same thing going on. It seems that the amount that I eat, determines how painful my left side under my ribs will be. If eat a very small meal it's not painful at all. Then after the food digests (I guess) the pain goes away. I will only feel the pain when I breathe deeply after eating. It usually last about an hour or two at the most. I wonder if it is some indication that we are full. Very Strange. It doesn't hurt very badly, it's just uncomfortable.
