smiley795 0 Posted October 16, 2007 So i was banded on Sept 27/07 and just wondering when did you start excercising. I need a kick and i think getting back into the gym will help. I know swimming isn't allowed till a month afterwards....Just need to get refocused. :help:
socalgal3 4 Posted October 16, 2007 I was walking almost right away. Try just walking around the block. Maybe some simple yoga/pilates or stretches on a mat. It depends on how you feel and what your doctor recommends, but walking is a great start! Ask a friend to join you if you are having trouble getting motivated. Or if you have a dog-walk with it! Good luck to you!
Wheetsin 714 Posted October 16, 2007 I could exercise moderately at 6 weeks. Was told to wait until 8 weeks for any weights or anything that targetted my abdominal area.
garfield461 25 Posted October 16, 2007 I started exercising a week after surgery (with my DR blessing). Started out slowly on the bike or treadmill and just did a fairly slow pace to get back into the groove. Two weeks later I started working out with light weight on my legs and arms. I just had my first fill yesterday and asked the Doc about doing abs and he said it was fine to add that in now. I started at 237 am at 200 today and I know a lot of it is because I am in the gym 6 days a week. I made it a habit and now don't feel good when I don't go. So get started, just do anything you can comfortably do.
