SF Bay Area? (California)

Recommended Posts

Hello all.

I live in California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. I haven't had surgery but am in the process. Just wondering if there are any other locals on here!

hi :) I am not in the bay area but I am in Northern California, El Dorado County and I am going through Kaiser's South Sacramento facility. How far along in the process are you? I am waiting for a phone appt. with my surgeon coming up this week.

Hi! Sorry, completely missed I had a reply.

I've done 4/6 nutritionist visits. Scheduled for surgery in December, assuming insurance approves!

I'm from Lodi and also using South Sac. I see my surgeon nov 30. I've lost 8 lbs in 4 weeks. Can't wait to find out how much weight I have to lose before my surgery is scheduled. Congratulations on your upcoming surgery date

Hey there.

I live in San Quentin, CA. I'll be starting orientation at the South San Francisco Kaiser on January 9, 2018.

You'll be having your surgery in two days if I did my math right. Keep us posted in how it goes.

Best of luck to you.

Candy

April,

Good luck tomorrow. If you're anxious before your surgery, ask for an anti-anxiety pill (or injection). Just tell them you're anxious and if there's anything they can give you.

Where are you having your surgery?

Let us know how you're doing on the flip side when you're able.

Good luck tomorrow. Will keep you in my prayers.

Joyce,

How was the preop appointment? Did you get a surgery date? Let us know what's going on.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
