anniew1 6 Posted September 24, 2017 Okay so really I shouldn't call this a stall. I had my surgery 1/31/17. I'm down 50 lbs and my body is definitely different now. But the scale stopped moving a couple of months ago. I had a really hard summer and I know I reverted to stress eating. Well summer is over, the stress is being managed, and I'm trying hard to get back on track. I have an appointment with my nutritionist coming up soon and I'm walking a few miles most days again. But I'm still not seeing the scale move. I need help! I can't seem to get myself back to losing. Help! Has anyone had any issue like this who can maybe give me some helpful tips? Thanks!! 1 ahnormandeau reacted to this
monalyssa33 138 Posted September 24, 2017 I'm in the exact same boat. I had my surgery February 20th and since early July I have been stuck at 70lbs lost (since surgery). I too have been stress eating and giving into cravings since I had to put my beloved cat to sleep last month. Then I also keep injuring and re-injuring myself every time I exercise. I keep thinking, maybe I'm just supposed to be this weight. I'm about 30 pounds from my amended goal weight and it is seeming impossible to get there. 1 Sleeveforme2017 reacted to this
Berry78 4,261 Posted September 24, 2017 Once the scale stops for 2 months (and inches also stop coming off), then you know you have reached the end of the surgical- induced weight loss. If you want to lose more, it's back to old fashioned diet and exercise. Diet is still more important than exercise. Losses will be as hard to come by as they were before you had surgery. It takes commitment to the program. Figure out how many calories you now consume, cut out a couple hundred, and things should start moving again. Real food is better than fake food. Cut out sugar and white flour. 5 Ldyvenus, mustanglauri, RockDaisy and 2 others reacted to this

Cut out sugar and white flour. That's good to know. I have felt like a failure because I've been stalled so long, but now I need to get back to work on losing more without relying on the sleeve. 1 Berry78 reacted to this
Berry78 4,261 Posted September 25, 2017 You aren't a failure, and neither is your sleeve. You were in a hole, the sleeve got you out of the hole, but now there are some steps to climb to get where you want to be. It's ok! You can do this! Take your time figuring out each step as it comes. It's easy to name a #, but how to make that number happen can be confusing. There is a reason there are so many diet books out there... 2 Sosewsue61 and monalyssa33 reacted to this
Olypie 41 Posted October 7, 2017 I’m currently in a stall at 8 months out. There is a lady on YouTube named Clusie l. She lost 190 pounds in two years with the Sleeve and said she was in a stall for five months. Everyone is different and some stalls can last longer than others. Hang in there! 2 Sosewsue61 and A_new_sara reacted to this
anniew1 6 Posted October 7, 2017 Thank you everyone. I'm just trying to get back to basics and it seems to work. Protein Shakes and count everything I eat, exercise, listen to my body. The sleeve definitely works, it's there for a reason, it's all about me doing my part. Thanks for letting me vent on here and thank you all for your input!!! 1 Sosewsue61 reacted to this
A_new_sara 136 Posted October 9, 2017 I am still a newbie.. but I had a pretty long stall. I was sleeved July 13th.. I lost 42 lbs the first 7 weeks then stalled for 24 days!!! It's frustrating, but as soon as it breaks its a great feeling.. just try to stay focused and keep going forward.. a stall is way better than a gain so at least you aren't going backwards!! hang in there! 1 Dolcy1182 reacted to this
