I'm considering buying a new scale because my current one only shows increments of half pounds. I see people posting what they lose each week in smaller points on the scale (2.8, 1.7, etc.). What scale would you recommend, where did you buy it, and how much did you pay? Part of me is afraid to switch because the new scale probably won't match the one I've been weighing on, but I'm still considering replacing it.

I found the Beurer Model BF66 to be a good scale. I bought it at Bed Bath and Beyond. It was a few years back but I think I spent less than $50 on it. I like it for the following reasons.

It is accurate to 0.2 pound increments.

It is repeatable. Using my old scale, I would step on it and get a reading. And then a few seconds later I would step on it again and get an entirely different reading. Sometimes this was as much as 5 pounds different. So repeatability is a must.

It has a lit LED reading that has large numbers. This was important because I generally remove my glasses before I weigh myself. I am almost blind without them. So I want to see the reading without them. On my old scale, there was a small reading. I would step down and bend over to read the weight, just when the scale cycled off.

I'm having the same issue with my scale in that I have to take three or four readings to get an average. The pattern is the first reading is always devastating. The second reading is a little more encouraging. The third reading is good. If I get the third reading a second time, that's where is remains consistently and I take that as my weight for the week. I guess the reliability is that this pattern is repeated every single time I weigh myself......yeah, time for a new scale. Thank you for your suggestion.

I use the Fitbit Aria.. Its sleek and I love how it sends my measurements via wifi directly to my phone apps and I can keep track of the progress without writing it down.

I bought from Amazon the Eteckcity digital scale - large numbers and calculates to decimal points . Very accurate it is routinely 4 lbs off from my doctor's scale. It only costs $22 and is on Amazon Prime so free shipping if you're a member

I have a Weight Gurus scale. I love the app because it tells me so much detail. There's graphs, your weigh in streaks etc... I included a pic of what I see when I open my app. It's just helpful info :)

I bought a Weight Watcher's scale on clearance at Target. It syncs with my phone. I think I paid $20.00 for it. I don't weigh myself every week anymore, maybe just once a month.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
