October 2017 - how to hide surgery during the holidays

Hi. I have surgery scheduled in October and have decided not to tell most of my family. Has anyone else done this and how do you "hide" the fact that you are eating differently at Holiday meals?

My surgery date is Nov 6 and wondering the same! My immediate family knows but that’s it. My husband has a lot of dinner and cocktail parties around the holidays I attend with him...looking for some creative ideas as well.

I'm following this discussion, also. I haven't told anyone but my husband, and I'm not sure how I'm going to go about keeping this secret.

You'll obviously have to make something up. Maybe tell them you're on a medication that limits what and when you eat.
