Need Liquid Diet Ideas

Recommended Posts

Hi guys! I'm new here. IIIII NEEEED HELLLLP. I'm 4 days out of surgery and the head hunger is REAL. I've only been eating chicken broth, Protein Shakes watered down, popsicles, and propel. I have 9 days to go and I'm honestly not as strong as most of you lol. Can you guys help me come up with some creative full liquid ideas? This is what's already on my list: broth, sf Gelatin, sf non carbonated beverages, sf popsicles, Protein shakes, chewable Multivitamins, skim or soy mixed with Protein Powder, fat free cream soups. And apparently even though it's on the list, I can't have yogurt yet. I guess I need fat free cream Soup ideas? Where do you even find that?! I'm dying. Save me. Any help apprexiated<3

I'm mean is a bit boring but luckily I'm not feeling hungry! I was earlier craving some real food! But that was just a moment! Lol good luck

I've read on some other posts that Target has a good selection of cream Soups, but I haven't bought any. I actually just make my own Soup, and tweak the recipe a bit of I need to. My go to is Pinterest to find some good soup recipes! I usually search for healthy or paleo/low carb soup recipes. Most aren't necessarily 'creamed' but that's easily fixed by throwing it in the blender and straining it lol. I also really like Skinnytaste recipes because hers are usually low carbs/ low cals and are pretty tasty!

I had my gastric sleeve last Monday and I'm on a liquid diet too . I bought yoghurt and liquidised it into a thin Fluid without any fruit bits . I like cream of chicken Soup or pumpkin soup again liquidised and strained I have a NutriBullet which has been great for liquidising . I went to the dietitian yesterday and was told that I wasn't getting enough Protein . I need 6

liquid meals a day and then the rest of the time drinking Water or vegetable juice . I don't feel hungry cos I seem to spent my day constantly drinking . She gave me a shopping list which includes thin custard , low sugar up and go or energise liquid Breakfast . Hope I've helped . You can do it !!!

Swiss Miss light hot chocolate, low sodium v 8, Campbell's Tomato Soup at hand (soup at hand has less sugar than regular Tomato Soup and is more watery). juice that has been diluted by half has been helping me, I've been so weak and mentally foggy. These are all on my docs list for the first 2 week stage.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
