My cardiologist says I need the lap-band now. He knows I have been on diets and nothing has worked. Will my insurance still make me do a 6 month diet even if he would send a letter stating I need the Lap-Band asap?

If it is an insurance REQUIREMENT, then yep, they'll make you do it. There is always the obesity law canter to contact, though. obesitylaw.com
