I have as well. And I've accepted the fact that I will always be technically "overweight" for my height (5'4) but I feel sooooo much healthier now!

Im 5'2...ive tried so much dieting all my life. And its difficult to try so hard and so little to no results. The most i was abt to loose on my own was abt 25 lbs

Exactly. You name it, I've tried it. And I was skeptical about surgery, but after reading more about it and realizing it was a tool more than an easy way out...I was more motivated than ever.

Im a mom so the complications of surgery always scared me. Thats why i opted for the sleeve..bc it has very little complications. I put it off for long enough and came to a realization that i cant loose all this weight on my own.

Yeah, I've heard that the recovery and complications are very minimal regarding the sleeve. [emoji4]

It's exciting so naturally you want to share it! But I agree, before my surgery I didn't tell many people. But now, I'm proud of how far I came and I tell anyone who asks. It definitely is NOT the easy way out like people think.

But to answer your question, the hardest part was just the adjusting to being around people eating yummy food and not being able to eat it, or enjoy it. I still struggle to eat slow to this day, and let me tell you...I pay the price every time. You'll learn quickly how much you can eat, and you'll know when you've ate too much. It's just the process of adjusting. It's really all mental.

I can't wait to be where you are! I'm a really fast eater so I need to practice eating slow too! I had 4 kids so I had to eat really fast or I didn't eat! But obviously I choked it down! lmao!

My advice is to practice now. Really. I've had countless times where I've ate too fast and ended up eating too much and having everything come right back up. It's not pretty. Lol. But after awhile, you do get into a routine. You can do it! [emoji4]

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
