StephersSweet 78 Posted September 20, 2017 Hello my name is Stephanie, I mostly go by Steph or Stephers. I am a full time call center representative and a part time photographer in Brockport NY. I weighed the options of getting this surgery for a long time and finally went to a seminar June 19th 2017 which was the start of my journey towards getting the surgery. Since the seminar I ran into a two month lapse in coverage so I was unable to proceed with the process, luckily I got that fixed and I've now gone to the Nutrition Seminar on September 11th and my first appointment with a PA in the office September 19th. During that week after changing my diet to what the Nutritionist suggested I lost 9 lbs. So I'm feeling pretty good about my progress so far. I'm doing this surgery mainly because I have a genetic mutation that makes me highly susceptible to cancer, specifically: breast, cervical, and ovarian. Getting healthy is key to living my life to the absolute fullest and kicking cancers ass back to hell if it hits me. This week has been tough, I gave up coffee, and all junk food and have been very strict about the diet. The biggest issues I'm having are the caffeine and sugar withdrawals, and getting used to only sipping liquids and taking very small bites. I'm not sure why it's so hard for me just to slow down and take little bites when I'm eating, probably because I live a hectic life and taking 30 minutes out of my day to eat one meal doesn't seem to work so well but I am trying and I have noticed progress. Also I lost that nine pounds so that was super exciting. Anyway I'm looking forward to making friends here and reading all of your success stories. Also I'm writing a blog about this experience and I'd love to do some interviews with other patients.

enigma_007 95 Posted September 20, 2017 Anytime.Im going for the sleeve. My biggest issue is with sweets. Im trying to diet thru this insurance approval process. It hasnt been easy but just taking it one day at a time. Started going to the gym for an hr in the morning. I always hate the gym bc i feel everyone is staring. But i forced myself and it was fine. What made u opt for rouxe?Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app 1 StephersSweet reacted to this
StephersSweet 78 Posted September 20, 2017 I feel your pain when it comes to the staring part. It makes me so mad. I opted for it because it has a high weight loss and keeping it off success rate. 1 OmaJ reacted to this
enigma_007 95 Posted September 20, 2017 I dont know why but the rouxe scared meSent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
StephersSweet 78 Posted September 20, 2017 I've actually heard that from a lot of people so far. I have a few friends at work who are also getting surgery and they opted for the sleeve as well, when I asked them why they said the same thing that the bigger surgery scared them.
