Saving Private Ry...

Recommended Posts

Howdy! Long time no post! I've just hit my 2 month surgiversary and am down just shy of 95 pounds! (Still have ALOT to lose though) and loving it so far. I think so have the pouch of superman himself as I have yet to find one food that it doesn' agree with so I'm extra careful in what I'm eating. My lingering question though....I'm trying to save "private Ryan" to be humble as possible lmao and im inquiring to all my fellas if ya'll have had major changes when it came to that aspect. #FightingTheWarOneMonthAtATime

Congrats on your loss!

If you're asking what I think you're asking, there are threads on the subject--does it actually get bigger or does it just appear bigger when the stuff around it has shrunk? At any rate, almost everyone seems to report a better sex life post weight loss--more energy, more flexibility, more interest from partners . . .

And if that's not what you were asking, my apologies!

I am not too sure what you are talking about by Saving Private Ryan since I never saw the movie. As we age and gain weight many men experience Erectile Dysfunction or ED for short. I have this condition and losing weight after surgery did not seem to correct the problem. But then again I am 69 years old and I suspect age has a lot to do with this. But in reading many of the threads on this website, I gather that many men have this condition go into remission as they lose weight after surgery. There is another condition that I experience which drove me crazy that was cause by my obesity. This condition was called an inverted penis. This condition luckily went into remission as I lost weight after surgery.

in case you can’t read, this is the GUYS ROOM forum.

be respectful and GTFO.

Wow. I tend to look at the right side of the page's list of recent topics and click on subjects to read the posts. Most of the time I don't even notice which forum it's in. I can read just fine, thanks, I have a MA in English Literature. I thought I was being respectful: But you sure weren't.

Dude, I wouldn't come in here if I went through the front door to the forums. But since I prefer the back door, there are no warning signs...

To the OP, sorry for barging in here, but I've seen it all. My husband has an 8 incher when he weighs 200lbs, and about -2 inches at 300lbs. (And I don't mean 6 inches, I mean it has retracted into the abdomen, leaving just a little hole visible).

I'm sure you will be quite pleased when the scale starts moving.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
