Pain when getting up and down

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on 9/11 . My incisions are pretty much all healed great. No problems swallowing or anything. The only problem is to the left of my belly button on the inside where my doctor said there is a stitch . Don't seem to be easing up at all . After sitting for a bit and then standing up is just the worst pulling, burning feeling like a rope ripping. And then after I'm up it will slowly subside. It's terrible though . My doctor said it was normal but everyone I know that's had this has not experienced this . Has anyone here ?

I still have a pulling like sinsation when I get up where my main incision is. I still have to be careful getting up, and I still protect that side a little more. My surgery was also on 9/11. Sometimes just sitting I get twinges (little pains) and a burning feeling sometimes. My Dr. said it's all normal too.

My surgery was on the 5th so I'm just 2 weeks post-opt I kinda have the same thing. All 5 incisions are doing fine but the bigger one still hurts with bending or getting out of bed . I also still have all scabs on all incisions . My stomach is also still swollen. Is yours??

Yes swollen a little , I called the office and the nurse said that sometimes the doctor can't tell where she nerve endings are when putting the stitch in the abdomen wall . So that's what's causing my pain. She said unfortunately it will just take longer for this part of me to heal . It really stinks because this has put me out of work a while extra week. I just want to be able to get up and down with no pain . :( sleeves 9/11.

Came across your post. This is exactly what I’m going through. Dr said it was normal, but doesn’t happen to everyone. Has it subsided for you? I don’t know how much longer I can tolerate this. It gets unbearable when I move the wrong way.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
