Sex after VSG- ladies?

Recommended Posts

My question is mainly for the ladies; has the surgery done anything for your libido? I've read that it increases the sex drive for men... what about women? Cheers!

My wife was sleeved 10 weeks ago.
She wants to jam all the time.
She is hornier than when we were newly weds.

I have definitely noticed a difference! Not sure if its hormonal or increased confidence, but for me it has definitely increased a significant amout

Man, how I want this 'side effect!' hubby loves everything about my slimmer body, but I haven't noticed much of a libido increase yet. But I'm still making a lot of unsexy body noises, lol. Maybe when that decreases.

Mine comes and goes. I am generally more aroused, but sometimes my changing body still causes confidence issues. I'll tell you what-- it is MUCH easier to do now!!!!

(For about 6 months after surgery, your body is going through a LOT of hormone changes. Just keep that in mind.)

Had sex I'm a month pre op the other day. I don't know what it was but I felt sexier it felt like the first time my wife and I had sex.

Mine has always been high so I haven't noticed much change but I have noticed that the sex itself is better now that were both much thinner. My hubby has lost 50 pounds himself and I'm down 110 almost so the actual act is so much better.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
