graziellabs 28 Posted September 16, 2017 I know I can't have caffeine but can I get like a sugar free Decaf skinny latte from Dunkin' Donuts or Starbucks? I am really missing my coffee.
Mytimenow17 99 Posted September 16, 2017 That sounds really good! I'd like to know if that's allowed too.
Introversion 1,876 Posted September 16, 2017 Are you pre-op or post-op? What has your surgeon and/or dietitian said? I stopped coffee the night before surgery and started drinking it again approximately 2 months post-op. I drink a minimum of 3 cups a day without any problems. 2 longlashes23 and OutsideMatchInside reacted to this
Newme17 3,444 Posted September 16, 2017 When I was told no coffee, that meant no caffeine. So I had Decaf pre and post. I ordered decaf iced coffee from Starbucks a few times pre-op as well. I started my caffeinated coffee about three weeks post.

CysterWigs 2 Posted September 17, 2017 My doctor said I could have black Decaf as soon as a couple days after surgery. Just to play it by ear and see what my sleeve is comfortable with. I had a mug earlier today and it was lovely. I just had to drink it very slowly! I put a little of Jordan's Skinny pumpkin Caramel Syrup in there and it was like heaven. Vsgneeded 24 Posted September 17, 2017 I was told I can have coffee even few days after surgery. Is there any reason why we can't have it?
BubblyBelinda 11 Posted September 17, 2017 I think that is one of those surgeon specific things, I read articles that it doesn't cause any issues. I think it's just up to how your individual doctor recommended and your own body reacts to it. 1 Hoolahoopster reacted to this
hayleyf3706 150 Posted September 17, 2017 I don't see anything wrong with it! I sometimes do a skinny mocha or skinny iced cinnamon dolce. I just wouldn't make it a regular thing, even the fake sugar is not great for you. 1 Hoolahoopster reacted to this
Hoolahoopster 10 Posted September 24, 2017 I was told by my doctor for healing purposes stay away from caffeine for 3 months. I do the occasional skinny now.
SippinAintEasy 78 Posted September 24, 2017 My surgeon told me on my first day post op to go ahead and try it and see if the caffeine irritated me. It didn't. I have no history of heartburn. So I've had it every day since my surgery (6 weeks ago.) I usually have it as a 2 shot latte with Fairlife milk and a 1/2 tsp of sugar leaf. I also have an occasional short latte, unsweetened from Starbucks. I only have one cup a day though. I just bought the SF coffeemate pumpkin spice Creamer & did just have my first actual cup of coffee (instead of espresso shots) yesterday with the pumpkin spice creamer. (I debated between the SF and the regular. I'm not a huge fake sugar fan unless it's stevia. So, this will probably be my first and last jar) But....It. Was. Heaven. gwbicster 257 Posted September 25, 2017 I gave it up pre-op and haven't started back up. Haven't had the desire or felt the need. Bear in mind that I used to be a 30 ounce in the morning Diet Mountain Dew or coffee guy...
celticNgel 144 Posted September 25, 2017 I'm bumming...I love my coffee.
Sullie06 1,013 Posted September 25, 2017 I don't drink coffee, I never have, but I do drink black tea and I've been drinking caffeinated since about 4 months post op with no issue.
