Mytimenow17 99 Posted September 15, 2017 Is anyone sleeping on their side right after surgery? I was told best to sleep on my back for 2 weeks. I am 4 days post op. I am a side sleeper, and my back is starting to hurt sleeping on my back. I'm just afraid to sleep on my back for fear it may mess up my surgery. Does anyone else have this problem? Diana_in_Philly 1,426 Posted September 15, 2017 I slept on my side in the hospital. That wasn't something my team told me, but try putting a pillow under your knees, that might help with the back pain. Your team must have a reason. (Or call the office to find out why.) Cloebird 25 Posted September 15, 2017 I was about two weeks out before I could sleep on my side. I had to prop my head/uperbody up and a pillow under my knees to be able to sleep on my back.
KaiserKid 81 Posted September 15, 2017 As soon as it's comfortable, you can sleep on your side 1 OmaJ reacted to this
Brandeis 401 Posted September 15, 2017 I bought a wraparound maternity pillow SO I could sleep on my side. And I still sleep with it, that thing is the bomb. 1 confusedturtle3 reacted to this
dollface516 1 Posted September 15, 2017 I've actually been sleeping on my stomach .. I fall asleep on my side but I guess out of habbit I gravitate to my stomach while sleeping . So far there's been no harm done. Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app

KateBruin 344 Posted September 19, 2017 Slept on my side in the hospital with pillows behind me and hugging a pillow. When I got home I actually slept sitting up in a chair for 2 days because I was so uncomfortable. After that I went right to side/stomach sleeping with a body pillow on both sides. Evans Wifey 26 Posted September 20, 2017 I sleep on my side. I was told sleeping on my left side helps everything digests easier.
