:) :knockedou :banana :banana :Bunny :Bunny :Bunny :):D :D :D :D :P;) Woohoo!! I broke 183!!! Finally, since friggin Labor Day!! This morning my scale says 181.8. I know that's not a big loss, but I have been so bad and unable to break that darn 183. I know by evening, things will change but I have SEEN 181.8!!!! I have been working hard to get off the carb machine, so maybe I am headed in the right direction. ;) I may see the 170's yet!!!

Here's a HIGH-FIVE for ya!!!!!!!

BTW - How in the world did you do that DURING the holidays???

Even though the scale shows a loss, you really look like youve lost LOTS of inches (christmas photos).

Congratulations!!! You are such an inspiration! Thank you for being here. You prove that just because the "average" person only loses 35 to 50 percent of his/her excess weight with banding, it's possible to beat that.

And this gives me great hope. :)

LOL Well, thank you, but due to my height challenged status, I'm really still sitting at around 50-60%. If I never lost another pound, I'd still be SOOO much better off than I was, but I would like to lose 40-50 more lbs. For now, I'm just trying, however inadequately, to maintain my loss up until now and if I can find the right combination, possibly continue to head farther downward, one pound at a time. This has been a very slow process for me and I admit I have been my own worst enemy all along. If not for the band, I have no idea how much damage I could have done, BUT we're down to that place where I'm going to have to answer for every single thing that crosses my lips. No more free rides from here on out. And, I think it's become clear that with my painfully slow metabolism I will really have to keep an eye on the calorie intake.

Definitely! Although, I just don't feel that I lose as many inches as everyone else. Isn't it weird how we see ourselves so near the same? Like, I look at your weight, 173 and I think to myself, that's just 10lbs or so less than me, but there is no way I appear as small as you do. You must be all muscle. I think I'm all FLUFF!! lol.

Leatha, I do the same thing! And definitely no muscle here. Well, maybe around the mouth! No fluff either, just flab. LOL And I LOVE your "height challenged" statement! I can certainly relate to that one. But having met you, I can verify that you have a cute little shape. Really! And you have good taste in clothes. (P.S. Guess what quote my day calendar has on it today...That beautiful one about the whole and broken shells!)

Leatha! That's soooo good! That may be a SV but wow that's probably just the motivation you need! I have no doubt you'll see those 170's and sooner than you think!!!!!! Keep up the fantastic work!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
