You know that time you paid good money for that one product that boast "delicious flavor" whilst offering high amounts of Protein and nutrition.....only to take one bite or sip and gag on the flavor, texture, or viscosity?

Let's face it-- a VAST majority of "bariatric protein drinks", high protein "keto foods", or "bariatric Vitamin supplements" taste like :70_poop:.

SOOOO..... in an effort to help each other save time and money, please post the products you have tried and what you would rate them.

Either a: :1312_thumbsup_tone3: or :70_poop:.

Adding pics of the products would be very helpful.

I'll start by posting a few products I've tried in the comments.

This product is called "Nectar" and claims to have a completely smooth and juice like viscosity. It's disgusting, it's cloudy, and the Protein particles will settle in the bottom of your cup.

Wasted $95 on this yucky crap.

Definitely :70_poop::70_poop::70_poop:

This product "Crisp" claims to be a salty and savory alternative to the typical sweet Protein products.

Imagine eating air puffed soy Beans with a chalky powder like substance caking on them. It literally made me gag.

Total :70_poop:

Sickening sweet, totally artificial tasting, and way too much funky marshmallow filling. Yuck.

While the LEMON variety of these calcium chews are amazing (taste like lemon Laffy Taffy)....THIS "coconut" flavor taste like greasy old coconut oil. Ewwww

Ok....let post a yummy one!

These chewable strawberry watermelon Vitamin chews are like eating a piece of sweet and tart candy. Super good and the nutrition absorbs quickly.

Definitely a :1312_thumbsup_tone3::1312_thumbsup_tone3:

I have purchased so many things over the last 6mo. That have been DISGUSTING but, I have FINALLY found a Protein Bar that makes me feel like I'm eating a Hershey or Snickers! It's actually GOOD!!!

( The chocolate brownie and choc chip cookie dough are GREAT)

(The chocolate birthday cake was NOT very good, too dry)

I have not tried any other flavors

Here's another good one! These sublingual Vitamin B12 tablets melt on your tongue in a matter of seconds and tastes like a cherry sweet tart.

Yum:1312_thumbsup_tone3:

If you like Peanut Butter, these are pretty good. It's the only peanut butter bar I found that taste like it could pass for real peanut butter lol.

Though, it is not very sweet. That could be good or bad depending on your preference.

I give it a :1312_thumbsup_tone3:

Ok, so these are a capsule, therefore not really any flavor. But I'm posting them on here because they are a very small capsule and really truly work! If you're having problems with Hair loss post-surgery I highly recommend these. As you can see it has caused my fingernails to be long enough I no longer need to wear acrylic nails!

Woo hoo :1312_thumbsup_tone3:

Here's another bad Protein bar. Extremely dry and crumbly and the flavor is funky.

On the flip side, the apple cinnamon variety of these bars taste very similar to apple cinnamon nutrigrain bars( not as sweet and more cinnamon)

So either :70_poop: or:1312_thumbsup_tone3:depending on the flavor.

      Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
      What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
