Doing PROTEIN SHAKES FOR A MONTH!

Recommended Posts

I had surgery 4th july, I see my team for the second time October 12th. I have not lost much since my 6 week check up ... 6LBS!!! and i am 10 weeks out. I cant turn up and disapoint them as they thought I was doing so well, I have done everything right. But I cant bare the thought of turning up and they are looking at me with disapointment.

So it seems the only thing i can do is go back to Protein Shakes for the month and i will be sure to have dropped something by then? Am I crazy or is this okay? i have emailed the TWO NUTS on my team and NEITHER HAVE EMAILED ME BACK its been like 12 days , to tell them im in a stall. luckily i have lost 3lbs since my stall. I just feel like a failure. and feel like i need to do something drastic. Is this my crazy brain? i dont know?

Work with the whole team, nut, fitness and etc. I did and it worked great. my surgeon advised to stop Protein Shakes. I did veggie shakes instead. I also only eat veggies now. I had the same fear around that point. We just have to be patient and all will be good. Good luck! Here for ya if u need me

This is where the debates start. I am two year out and I still do Protein Shakes, one for Breakfast and one after I leave the gym. The problem with veggie only diets is you need to pay close attention to your Protein intake, this is because most veggies are incomplete Proteins. Now I know all the vegetarians out there are going to get on their soap box and tell me how wrong I am. Please try to keep in mind I am a medical lab professional so I know just a bit about the topic. Protein is something your body does not have the ability to store, and if you do not get enough your body will go catabolic and break down muscle tissue, not a place you want to go.

I think your progress is fine. After the first 6 weeks, I remember losing a couple pounds (0 to 3) per week. Usually I would not lose anything about one week a month.

The weight loss is steady but does not stay super fast like it is in the weeks right after surgery.

Also, who cares what they think? You are paying for their services. Which they aren't even responding to your calls. If anything, they should worry about what you think!

The weight will come off as long as you keep doing what you are supposed to do. Please don't start crash dieting! Not necessary [emoji4]

Bottom line work with your team and your doing great! Just focus on the program and what they say to do. I thought the exact same thing and in a year lost 120 lbs. smoothies work for me but maybe not others. Diversity makes the world go round. Record: I ate meat before surgery and loved it. Afterwards, my body fights back on meat and dairy. I listen to body.

People lose at all different rates for all different reasons. If you stick to your plan, the weight will come off. I lost 16 lbs the first month and 12 lbs the second, so at six weeks out, I'd lost less than 28 lbs. Note my total loss.

I know you are 5 foot 2 but at 216 pounds, you are not going to drop a ton of weight really fast.

Stalls are normal. If you keep doing the same thing you will still lose. I stalled for a week or 2 at a time all the time during my weight loss. I still lost 172 pounds post op, not relying on Protein Shakes. I stalled every single time I had my period, and sometimes that came with a weight gain of 5 pounds. I had a period every 2 weeks for over a year. So imagine all the stalls I had. It is better to track your weight loss by the month, not the week, even if you weigh everyday. Monthly totals matte more than weekly totals.

You can lose more weight faster with real food because your body burns calories just processing real food. When you have Protein shakes you are giving your body immediately available calories it does not have to work for.

Stalls are a part of the process get used to them.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
