Had sleeve done on Mon the 11th.. so post op by 2 or 3 days. I'm still in the hospital and working on sipping Water. However each time I swallow it burns my chest for just a few seconds, is this normal?

everything is inflamed. I had to experiment to find the right temperature that didnt cause discomfort. Ice cold worked best for me. The first few days its tough to get the Fluid in.

I had mine on Mon the 11th too. I am home and trying to get in my fluids. It especially hard getting in my shakes. They go right through me. :( popcicles are a life saver! I'm still in a lot of pain from the main incision site. Still trying to figure how to get out of bed and off the couch without excruciating pain. I live alone so this has been quite an adventure already. Good luck!

Hi, I had my surgery as well on 9/11 and I'm still having pain on the left side where my main incision is. It only hurts when I'm trying to get up or move around . Feels almost like a pulled muscle. Hope this is normal . And like everyone else these shakes are just so hard to get in . Thank goodness for power aid zero and Water !

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
