Recommended Posts

What do you lose first INCHES or WEIGHT? ME personally I lose INCHES quicker than weight... the pic on the left was 9/2/17 and the pic on the right is from today 9/12/17 PhotoGrid_1505257021444.jpg

I lost weight first but then during stalls inches. I am so glad I measured both, it helped when I hit those stalls to see the other numbers going down.

Both at the same time. Then with stalls, during a stall I lose inches. Which is why people should take their measurements every week, or at least once a month. Weight, stall, inches, weight. Rinse and repeat that has been the pattern the whole time. I wouldn't know that if I didn't track. Tracking helps you not panic because you understand what is going on.

I'm 4 months out... I notice my weight loss more than what the scale is saying so while I'm definitely losing weight (about 10lbs a month) I can really see the inches. I recently compared a picture of me a month ago to now and it was only a 6lb difference but my body looks completely different despite "just losing" 6lbs because of the inches I lost.

How long do your stalls last?

Proof that the # on scale isn't the end all, be all because I definitely see a change in the 2nd pic. :)

- No idea what I'm doing but I'm here! :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
