Full not satisfied

Recommended Posts

So I don't know if it's that I am barely eating pureed food, but I eat just a small amount and I am full but not satisfied. Maybe it's only eating one thing at a time and lacking variety. Anyone struggle with this and have ideas?

Once you are physically full, any residual hunger is likely head hunger.

Start planning an absorbing after-meal activity that will take your mind off food. Maybe set up a puzzle, then when you finish eating you go look for that little blue piece with the squiggle edge instead of worrying about whether your food was boring ;)

The food is pretty boring. when you get to solids, and really start feeling restriction, you might find you have a different attitude.

I did at puree and still do sometimes now. I feel full but annoyed I can’t eat more than a little bit. Sometimes I feel jealous of my husband being able to eat normal. I think it’s just part of the process and all mental. Sorry I can’t help more but I definitely experience that as well.

Totally agree. I watch my family eat 'normal' amounts of food and cant believe I used to eat even more than that...lol!

What I figured out was that my body was still really hungry even tho my tiny pouch of a tummy would not let anymore nutrition get into my bod. I *think* that is called head hunger??- (somebody correct me if I am wrong)

I kinda think with me it was that I was so used to large amounts of food that my body was still really hungry with the few ounces I was able to eat.

:)

Head hunger is a craving. This happens when your body isn't actually hungry.. and it's easy to tell the difference. If you are actually, physically, hungry, ANY food that tastes ok will work, and once you are full, you are done and can move on with your day. Head hunger leaves you still hungry even when your belly is full, and you are wanting something specific.

So if I'm physically hungry, a pile of broccoli will look great! If I'm craving a Peanut Butter and jelly sandwich, and am presented with broccoli, I'll just want the sandwich, and the broccoli doesn't satisfy (even if I eat the broccoli, I STILL want the sandwich).

Slightly different response. If you are in the first couple months after surgery, you might need to really use Protein Powder to get Un hungry. Because that dizzy weak feeling, if that is what it is, means your body needs more Protein. And the tiny amount of food (even the yogurt) might not be getting rid of the dizzy weak feeling. So make up a Protein Drink to keep in the fridge or a metal thermos beside you all day, and sip from it when your tiny mini meal doesn't satisfy that genuine hunger.

It can be tricky to figure out head hunger (cravings) from real need for more protein at first. A few sips of a boring unsweetened protein powder mixed with plain milk will satisfy that protein deficit. It would not satisfy a "head hunger" dreaming of French fries. Maybe it will help you learn.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
