Kennergirl 1 Posted October 15, 2007 Hi Everyone! I'm new to the site and love all the positive info. I hope to be banded before the 1st of the year. Just started hoop jumping. I'd love to hear from anyone in Louisiana. I'm from Kenner (just West of New Orleans) Being overweight down here in THE BIG EASY is a way of life. The last 4 generations of my family have all had weight problems, not to mention heart disease, HBP, diabetes etc. I'm ready to STOP THE MADNESS, and pray my children won't have to suffer. Sounds silly...but my only concern is this: I sleep on my stomach. Will I be able to feel the band? After I lose some of the cushion??? Thanks for being there,

Thanks for being there, Welcome Kennergirl - Congrats on making the decision to get banded. You will be able to sleep on your tummy once you are all healed up from surgery (a couple of weeks) - it's your port site that hurts the most - it's tender really - I don't feel the band it's inside - i do feel my port site if i bursh up against something hard.. I too am a tummy / side sleeper - I was able to get on my tummy side maybe a week out...
