Redmaxx 740 Posted September 12, 2017 My wife and I completed our first official 5K walk on Sunday. We completed it in 56 minutes 38 seconds. I could have run it but my wife thinks she cant run so I walked it with her. It was fun and I am sure that we will do it again in the future. 5 Strivingforbetter, pfisher, Berry78 and 2 others reacted to this
pfisher 72 Posted September 12, 2017 That's awesome!!! Congratulations! I'm thinking of working toward one of those. There are a lot of fundraising 5k's scheduled over the next few months that are catching my eye. I noticed that you said you felt you could run it. Would you mind sharing any tips for those of us who are considering starting to run? I've been more a walking fan but running has a certain draw to it. 2 MowryRocks and Redmaxx reacted to this

Try C25K, its a free downloadable app or you can find a C25K schedule online. I did this and it really helped me. I went from walking a 22 minute mile to running a 15 minute mile in less than 3 months. My endurance has increased and I can now run for about an hour straight without stopping. It has been integral in my overall health. 1 Apple1 reacted to this

AnA92212 577 Posted September 12, 2017 Congratulations! I love 5Ks. The atmosphere is always fun and they are usually for a good cause. I started with the couch to 5K app and then progressed. I ran 4 half marathons in 4 months (before I got pregnant). I never thought I would like running, but I love it. 2 Apple1 and MowryRocks reacted to this
