dreamingsmall 1,125 Posted September 11, 2017 I was just curious about this. I often look on sites for vsg posts and pics of vsg food portions etc. I have been coming across those intermittent fasting after VSG, Their portion size is still the same as any other vsg paitent, so i wondered like the one who fasted for 20 hours in her window she wont get in as much calories as someone who is not a vsg paitent in their window, so would they not be eating too small? Is their negatives of fasting & being a vsg patient? Anyone had experiance. I used to do intermittent fasting but did not think it was possible post . Thanks 1 Dametris reacted to this
BabyNewYear 31 Posted September 11, 2017 I was wondering the same thing. I'm going to give the 5:2 fasting program a try and see how it goes. I've gained a few pounds and feel like it's probably the equivalent of going back to the liquid diet again. Stay tuned.

ThanksI never tried POSTOP fasting, I eat a snack or small meal every 2-3 hrs, when my sleeve is "empty" the hunger pains hurt. Also when I started the eating every few hrs my weight loss became steady.HW: 247 VSG:6/1/17 CW:203(9/4/17) GW:180[emoji41]

BabyNewYear 31 Posted September 13, 2017 Well I'm now in Day 2 of the fast days. Had to break out the Prilosec on day 1 and had a bit of a headache by that evening. The second day has been much easier. Just eating dinner on both days then nothing else.Trying to stick to the 500 calories per day during the fast. I'm over a year and a half post op so my daily normal calorie intake is around 1500 to 2000. This fasting regime was actually recommended by my team when I went to my 1 year checkup. It's supposed to help with metabolic resistance. I was one of those people who could live on air and still gain weight before surgery and I'm petrified I'm going to gain it all back again. Hoping the 5:2 will keep the gain from creeping up. Mosley is the one I'm trying to follow.
