Berry78 4,261 Posted September 10, 2017 Preop, I had SEVERELY cracked heels. When I google images of cracked heels, the images are of heels that are dry around the edges of the heel, but not on the walking surface of the bottom of the foot (for the most part). I had the typical cracked heels like those images, but in addition, I had "fish scale" pattern cracks all over the bottom of my foot pad as well. Some cracks would be deep enough that you could see red/pink in the crack, but they didn't actively bleed. Anyway, I had those heels for the last, I don't know.. 8 years? Nothing made them better or worse. Time of year, lotion, etc. They were just always that way. Now, 5.5 months postop, and they are SOO much better. I haven't done anything different with my feet than I did before. The ONLY difference is the surgery and diet. (And the weight loss, of course). The improvement has been gradual, and it's not 100% yet, but I'd say they are 90% better. Anyone else have skin improvement they weren't expecting? 4 njgal, ladygg1967, linah and 1 other reacted to this
Apple1 2,572 Posted September 10, 2017 I have rosecea on my nose. It has been much better since surgery with fewer instances of outbreaks. Stress makes it worse. I am currently having an outbreak, but I have had fewer lately. 1 Berry78 reacted to this
Berry78 4,261 Posted September 10, 2017 My hubby had rosacea for the first several years we were married. It gradually got better, but I don't know what caused its improvement! My Aunt also had it BAD, and when she lived in Mexico, she went to an outdoor market. An old woman gave her some home-made herbal lotion to put onto her face. Within a week her rosacea was cured and never came back! I'll have to ask her if she knows what was in the lotion. 2 Apple1 and linah reacted to this
jess9395 5,449 Posted September 10, 2017 Yes!!! I struggled with cracked heels for years... like you said, deep with pink showing but no active bleeding-- and no more! Completely gone. 2 Berry78 and njgal reacted to this
Newme17 3,444 Posted September 10, 2017 I didn't have severely cracked heels, but they were getting there. My husband was rubbing my feet one day (about 3mo post) and says "your feet aren't all hard like usual". That's when I noticed they're indeed softer. Kind of weird, still trying to figure out how diet and surgery made this happen. 1 Berry78 reacted to this
OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted September 11, 2017 I did not have cracked heels but my feet were rough and I would get a thick callous on the pad of my feet. My feet stay almost baby soft now. Keto overall made my skon great but the feet is just because they are now carrying around an entire extra person all day. 2 nrichi1 and Berry78 reacted to this
imadethelist 226 Posted September 13, 2017 I'm right there with you. My feet were awful!!! Thick calluses, cracked, and painful. 100% completely healed now. My feet are like babies feet now and I walk 8 miles a day so I beat them up plenty. What a great side benefit 1 Berry78 reacted to this
