How much can you eat in puréed stage?

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody! I was just wondering what your day looks like during te puréed stage. How much can you eat in a sitting; Ive been doing 2 tablespoons of Protein (ie: tuna blended with Greek yogurt) and 2 tablespoons (or less) of mashed potato. I feel I could eat more. I don't want to overeat. I also don't know when I'm full. How do you know you are full?

Thank you in advance!

Since you're finishing your meals with a slider food (read: mashed potatoes), you could certainly eat more.

Sliders, a.k.a. slurry foods, don't promote fullness because they 'slide' through the stomach and into the small intestine. To keep a long story short, a sleeved person can eat a lot of sliders.

Since you have limited space in your stomach, perhaps ditch the mashed potatoes and eat 4 tablespoons of tuna to obtain your Protein. You'll probably feel fuller, too.

It doesnt matter if you feel you can eat more, do not eat more than whatever your dr told you , eg 4 ounces for most. You are still healing so may not feel full, you will learn what the signs are. I would burp etc and if i ate to much my chest would hurt lol

Great idea! I've been craving tuna since day 1 of the pro op diet lol!

Thank you

My experience was that the pureed stage made everything like the dreaded "slider" foods. I did not feel full. As I moved to food that was a little more solid, then I felt the restriction more. After realizing I could eat more than I felt I should, then I started measuring.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
