lessoflilo 34 Posted September 9, 2017 Hello everybody! I was just wondering what your day looks like during te puréed stage. How much can you eat in a sitting; Ive been doing 2 tablespoons of Protein (ie: tuna blended with Greek yogurt) and 2 tablespoons (or less) of mashed potato. I feel I could eat more. I don't want to overeat. I also don't know when I'm full. How do you know you are full?Thank you in advance!
Introversion 1,876 Posted September 9, 2017 Since you're finishing your meals with a slider food (read: mashed potatoes), you could certainly eat more. Sliders, a.k.a. slurry foods, don't promote fullness because they 'slide' through the stomach and into the small intestine. To keep a long story short, a sleeved person can eat a lot of sliders. Since you have limited space in your stomach, perhaps ditch the mashed potatoes and eat 4 tablespoons of tuna to obtain your Protein. You'll probably feel fuller, too. It doesnt matter if you feel you can eat more, do not eat more than whatever your dr told you , eg 4 ounces for most. You are still healing so may not feel full, you will learn what the signs are. I would burp etc and if i ate to much my chest would hurt lol

Sassy Sleeve 34 Posted September 9, 2017 My experience was that the pureed stage made everything like the dreaded "slider" foods. I did not feel full. As I moved to food that was a little more solid, then I felt the restriction more. After realizing I could eat more than I felt I should, then I started measuring. Kriverasmith 1 Posted September 15, 2017 This was helpful to me too. I'm 2 weeks post op of the bypass and I've noticed I can easily eat 4 oz of like mashed potatoes or refried Beans. But if I pureed and added chicken or beef then I get a tight belly. Sent from my R1 HD using BariatricPal mobile app
