Recommended Posts

Okay well this month on sept 25 will be my last month to see my surgeon doctor I had to see at least 6 times before I can get approved and go through the steps.. So right now he has me on a liver shrinkage diet I guess I already seen my nutritionist dietitian and my psychologist so I went to the store and bought pure Protein 100%whey vanilla cream to start with he told me either muscle milk or Premier Protein but I was trying to get big quality of the premier protein listen this my first time doing all of this so I was like we I can get a big quality that looks like its gonna last because how big the tub of pure protein is and when I seen the premier Protein Shakes its four but I would have to buy alot of them but I'm thinking about still getting it because I have to do one for Breakfast and for lunch and dinner all meat, vegetables, fruit, and salad is what I was told but I'm doing this early should I still get the premier protein and how many should i get and did anyone start this early like I'm doing I am a beginner never done this in my life

That is perhaps the longest run-on sentence I've ever read! Wow!

The pre-op diet is very restrictive. It takes a lot of willpower. If you can start it early & maintain it, go for it. Good luck!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
