I think we waited about 3 weeks. Once I was able to lay on my side and my stomach then I felt like I was ready to resume other activities :-D

Great question, I was wondering that myself. I had my surgery 10-12-07. I think my husband might be to more scared to do "something" than I am.

Ok I have to laugh. I'm a little over a month out and DH was afraid to break me, LOL. We resumed "activities" recently and everything was fine. I did wait until I could sleep on my stomach though. I was given the medical "okay" at my 2 wk follow-up-it was included as "exercise" LOL.

I would definately say wait until the gassy stage passes.

I asked my surgeon prior to my surgery. He told me to wait maybe a few days, then I should be comfy enough to be "creative". And I was.

My doctor said 2 weeks but we only waited 1 week. (my boyfriend was ready for sex 2 days after having a vasectomy - there's no stopping him - lol)

We were back to our rowdy sex within a week. THAT BEING SAID.. my port was flipped completely backward by my first fill, so.. I can't help but wonder if it had to do with the sex.

And now that it's between my boobs.. I am about to start a new thread about it.. when my legs are over my shoulders (ho hum!) it really hurts my port. Feel like it's pulling it out, so I'm afraid I'm going to screw it up again.

I think we waited only 3 or 4 days after. Of coarse I was also back at work on Monday after a Friday surgery so the whole process very easy very quick recovery.

Hmm... I think I waited like 2 weeks or so. DH was a little afraid to touch me before that, and although I recovered quickly, my port (in the middle of my abdomen) stayed sore for a while. It's been a while since I was banded, but I do remember sticking to either "doggy style" (I hate calling it that) , where we're laying on our sides, or me on top backwards. These seemed like the least likely to irritate my port area.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
