Because of the size of my stomach, I can't eat as much as I used to so I really don't understand why I'm not losing more. :(

I agree with what the majority have stated on this post. You will have to train yourself to realize that just because you can only eat a small amount of food, it does not equal weight loss. I have heard of many people gaining their weight back because of poor food choices, even though they were eating them in small amounts. But eat enough of them everyday and you body starts storing the fat. I am finally back on solid foods and have found that my grocery shopping and cooking has been simplified in a good way. I buy only what I need to make it through the week or till my paycheck and then when I cook it is only meat and veggies. So if you are cooking spaghetti for the family, make some turkey or chicken meatballs to go with it that you can eat and add a multi veggie salad. That way the only thing you are "missing out" on is the Pasta.

Cutting out processed things will be tough but certainly not impossible. Can you recommend a eating plan to stick to?
Atkins?
Paleo?

Hi! This site has online store and many wonderful tips on how to stay on track. Definitely cut out processed food and stay away from spaghetti/pasta, at least for now.

I don't believe anyone is destined to be fat. But YOU have to make the decision to do whatever you have to do to lose weight and be healthy. YOU have to decide that being successful and reaching goal is more important than any food. YOU have to have perseverance, grit, and determination. And YOU can't let anyone or anything get in your way.

I weighed almost 400 pounds when I started my journey. I weigh 173 today. 7 pounds below goal. It can be done, but you have to put in the work and the time.

Good luck!

Some good advice here. Only thing I can add is be careful of drinking your calories. You have 2 drinks in there that are pretty high calorie. Drinks go right through so you don't have any benefit of the restriction the sleeve provides. Log everything for a week, measure carefully and be honest and see if you can meet with a nutritionist from your program or if not have your PCP recommend one. I'm guessing there's way too many calories in a day, but hard to saw without knowing portion sizes.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
