CINNAMON 2015 43 Posted September 4, 2017 Hi, I am 2 years out RNY. Right after surgery I kept weighing myself and obsessing. A couple of weeks after, when I had settled down I was in front of the mirror and it hit me 40lbs. was just gone! It was amazing! I have gained & lost a few lbs here & there and you will hit stalls but they don't last forever. I'm not sorry I did this & I had a fantastic Dr. Good Luck with your program. Just drink your Water, get your Protein in & exercise and you'll be ok! 1 zallykatz16 reacted to this
Meryline 546 Posted September 5, 2017 Completely normal to gain weight right after surgery. It's fluids they pump you full of in the hospital as well as, you just had major surgery. Stay away from the scale for a few weeks to let your body settle. 2 OmaJ and katemac127 reacted to this

digitalgoddess 3 Posted October 15, 2017 Hello. Your weight going up after surgery is very normal. During the surgery and immediately post op you were getting tons of IV fluids and that adds to your weight, but also when the surgeons attach part of your small bowel attaches just below your pouch. Handleing your insides causes them to swell with fluids. Sent from my RCT6703W13 using BariatricPal mobile app
