I am currently new to this group, and I have been to the lap band seminar in September of this year just waiting one more month before my six month diet is complete from my doctor and I can get approved through insurance so I am trying to wait until I get a date for my surgery I am excited about this I know I will succeed from this I have a supportive husband and family I have put a lot of thought and time into this and I am almost approved through my insurance so I am thinking of having it done at the beginning of the new year. Any information on lap band from anyone that is going through this or has already been I would appreciate it currently the only health problem I have is asthmah, and lack of energy how do I get motivated to start losing before surgery? I am currently 325 lbs and 5'6'' and I have two small children to run after it is hard carrying all of this weight. Please any information would be nice Thankyou.:cool::confused::):confused:

      Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
      What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
