mrspruett 0 Posted October 15, 2007 I no longer use a Cpap for sleep apnea. My diabetic meds (metglip) have decreased 75% and I fully expect to be taken off of it at my next doctor's visit. Byetta is also discontinued. BP meds are still with me but I have chronic heart disease and a stent placement so I may be stuck with some of those.
mandi78 3 Posted October 15, 2007 I'm not even 3 weeks post op and I have been off my diabetes meds since my pre op diet. I did have a very mild case of diabetes but it's great to be off the meds. I'm sure with the surgery and weight loss it will happen for you too! Good luck.

utep99 0 Posted October 16, 2007 yes sleep apnea went and so did my diabetes so hang in there it is well worth it. Expect right after the surgery to have to take insulin, This is due to the surgery effects not your condition. I had 2 injections while in the hospital and then when I got home my blood sugar is 85 normal and 101 after eating it is great !! The energy you develop after a few weeks will astound you. bama_belle 0 Posted May 13, 2008 No more CPAP????? You mean I might actually be rid of that thing? I seriously think I may cry. I'm on metformin, amaryl AND Byetta, each twice a day. I'll be thankful not to have to take any of it anymore. But ridding myself of that CPAP. That... that will be the biggie.
BeverlyDiane 0 Posted May 30, 2008 Iam suppose to use a cpap, but am claustrophobic. Also I am a restless sleeper. My setting is 6. I do not use it most the time so I am really looking forward to being banded. Also, recently my blood sugars have jumped in the mornings to 170-200. I am only on Actos. I tried Byetta, but couldn't take the side effects. I hope the Band helps with some of these conditions.
jfc193 718 Posted May 30, 2008 I have not used a CPAP machine for the last 6 months. I have not taken any diabetes medicine in two months I used to have to take shots for allergies the only medicine I take now is over the counter claritan.
paulk 0 Posted May 30, 2008 Dianne Try a nose piece instead of a mask .I find these more comfort able they fit in your nose like an oxygen hose . Good luck Paulk
