Am I wrong in thinking that sounds delicious? I used to eat pizza at least once a week. It has been almost 2 months since I've had a slice. I definitely feel your pain.

pizza is the one food that drives me crazy post op! I always enjoyed it but now, I see it, even the cheap cardboard kind, and want it. Ironically, 3.5 weeks out, I'm struggling with getting my allowed food in but if I could eat pizza, I am worried I wld. I left a party bc of it! I went home and had a shake and once I was away from it and had some Protein in my system I was ok but man, I feel ya! I never craved it before surgery like this. I think it's the hot, savory goodness I want. I did make the ricotta bake and that helped. Once I'm healed I'm looking forward to trying the plant based crust bc I think I may need to stay gluten free.

Yes pizza is loved lol. But i dont forsee me trying any for a very long time-possibly never again-well at least not in the standard form. I just keep telling myself i had surgery for a reason and pizza is one of them! Le sigh-plan to leave all those bad habits behind.

So it's not exactly the same as pizza but Ricotta Bake filled my pizza craving when I was on pureed and even after before I took the plunge and tried pizza again. You could melt some shredded cheese on top and even add pepperoni or turkey sausage when you are further out and allowed meats.

Around 12 weeks post op I tried thin crust pizza and had no issues digesting it. I now eat pizza about twice a month but can only eat 1 slice without the crust. It's my treat when I have it and I take into account when I'm planning my other meals of the day.

In Chicago, Lou Malnati's makes a "low carb" version of its deep dish pizza that skips the crust and has sausage as its bottom. It's fatty as all hell still, but it doesn't have much carbs at all. A few months down the road, when I can eat different stuff (I'm only starting purees tomorrow) I intend to order the smallest possible one and eat a single piece for a meal.

Sounds yummy. I am still in liquids until tuesday. I have a ways to go[emoji849] lolol. Actually scared to really have pureed foods or even soft foods.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
