I've just got my c pap and have to use it for at least a month before my insurance will give me a date for my RYN, my question is how do you sleep with this mask on your face. I'm a side to tummy sleeper and having a tough time. Any helpful hints, tricks would be gratefully appreciated...its driving me nuts.

Pillows are key. You can get special CPAP pillows for side sleepers, or you can use soft pillows to create a space. I have used a CPAP for years and am a side/belly sleeper.

I've had a CPAP for over a year and I am a side sleeper - I use the wisp (just around the nose but not the nose pillows) and mine works fine on my side. You learn how to make adjustments to prevent leaks. Best of luck

The right mask is key! I got a crappy full face mask initially. It sucked as I'm a side/tummy sleeper and wouldn't seal properly. A family member gave me a new full face mask that is seriously like the rolls Royce of face masks that even had a nice little cushion on my forehead and a great seal. Shop around for a mask that allows you to put some pressure on the side!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
