Funky_Brewster 3 Posted August 30, 2017 When I eat too quickly, sometimes I can feel the food (or air?) sitting on my chest like I tried to swallow a brick. Does anyone else experience this?

Pescador 1,374 Posted August 30, 2017 I am not sure why it happens. Seems it would be lower down. Just resting or walking relieves it. I feel it in the middle of my chest, even 4 years post sleeve. 1 Funky_Brewster reacted to this
dreamingsmall 1,125 Posted August 31, 2017 It happens because you've eaten to much. Or to fast and you really should stop before that point. How much are u eating and how far out.I noticed this maybe upto week 5 then I figured I need to eat 2 ounces then wait.then start again Sent from my Swift 2 using BariatricPal mobile app 1 KateBruin reacted to this

I guess that is subjective. It's less than what I used to eat but it is definitely more than 2 oz. I will start with smaller portions and see if that helps. I know for sure that I am eating too fast. I always have. I will make a focused effort to slow down more. That pain on my chest is awful. It feels like it is choking me to death and it lasts for several minutes before it passes. I don't want keep experiencing that. It is miserable

ncoll 19 Posted September 5, 2017 I too experienced the pain. It lasted a week. Now I get smaller versions of it if I eat too much. I really listen to my sleeve now. I thought if it was going to continue like that then this was the biggest mistake I could make. So glad it stopped!Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app
Apple1 2,572 Posted September 5, 2017 That happens when I eat to fast or if I try to finish that last bite. I only ever serve myself 4 oz but sometimes even 4oz can be too much. You will figure it out soon enough.
