cc1018 2 Posted August 28, 2017 I attended a seminar last week and have my consult with the doc on 9/28. I am pretty excited and terrified. Has anyone dealt with a lack of support from their spouse? My husband is uncommunicative and is against me having surgery. I think he is nervous something will happen because we know someone who had terrible complications. Any thoughts to help me get him on board? 1 tovasha reacted to this
Waler 330 Posted August 28, 2017 I have had little to no support myself so I sat down and thought about it. I asked myself who am I doing this for, my spouse or me. that is when I figured out it has to be for you. You can not make others happy, that is something they have to find on there own. This is an opportunity to make yourself happy and healthier. Do it for you first if others fall in line after even better. 4 ProudGrammy, cc1018, Kiki2slim and 1 other reacted to this

Like he would go to the gym with me and help me work out but at 2 in the morning he would bring me a Wendy's chicken sandwich and fries. Wake me up out my sleep and tell me to eat..lol but the more positive I was about the surgery and the things we would be able to do afterwards because of my weight loss and because i wiuldnt be so self conscious the more he got on board. The day if was funny because he tried really hard to talk me out of it but it was because he was so afraid of losing me during surgery.Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
