Has anyone ever had a PCP stop their pre-op 6 month diet due to not losing enough?

Sosewsue61 and everyone else, so, I have called the bariatric clinic and the insurance company, and they have both made it clear that if I drop below 260, I will have to pay out of pocket. I have sent an email to my PCP to let her know this. In the email, I ask her to please let me know if she is uncomfortable with me continuing with the monitored diet, so that I can find a different PCP, because I didn't want to be 5 months into this process with her refusing to do month 6. I really hope that she just agrees to continue up until the end, because I am already working on my 3rd month. :/

I think that was the right move-i switched surgeons a month after i started. I requested all notes up to that point and had them sent to the new surgeon. They were able to submit to jns based on my first appt even though it wasnt with them so if she gives you a hard time id say find another doctor.

@ReadyforChangeChan, @Sosewsue61, and everyone, so after I emailed my PCP explaining that I spoke that to insurance and the surgeon's office that losing 10 pounds a month would sabotage me, then she responded that she would not end the 6th month monitored diet and support me and that 4 pounds a month would be fine. I plan to hold her to those written words, if she has a change of heart. I think the issue is that she has been a physician for longer than I have been alive, and she might be a little confused or uneducated as to what VSG is.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
