Anyone getting sleeved on august 30th?

Recommended Posts

I feel the same. I am hoping that these negative feelings will soon pass as we emerge from our former selves. At least you're not alone

I have really suffered from mind hunger. And realizing that I am so addicted to food. It was a rough first week for me. We all have our own issues and it's always nice to talk to! Cause no matter how much you research, no one can really prepare you for this mentally.

I suffer from OCD and I can't stop obsessing that my doctor messed up on my sleeve and made it too big.
He did my wife's sleeve and I swear mine is bigger.

I promise it is not! But you have to know that women and men are so much different with how our bodies react to things! How much are you able to eat now that you are on soft foods?

I haven't measured anything.
But I know it is too much.
I need to order a digital scale.

Yes!! I highly recommend. Even if you feel as if you are able to eat a bunch of food, you shouldn't. Measuring food will help tremendously. I also watched a surgeons video and he said we should be eating food the size of our palm for life if we are doing things right. And the size of our hand if it's a salad. If you eat more than that you could stretch your sleeve!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
