Who still has steri-strips?

Recommended Posts

I was banded 10/2 and mine are still on. They look disgusting. I've showered and washed every day since surgery and they are still stuck. They aren't even loose! Is that normal? I go to the doc Tuesday for my post-op check up so I'm wondering if he will try to pull them off?!!

LOL, he might try to pull them off! Chances are that he'll tell you to leave them on until they fall off. Hey at least you're not ready to put on your bikini yet! Have you updated your ticker? I'm sure you're down more weight since you last did!

I was banded on the 1st, and I pulled my off after about 7 days. The just didn't look to Steri anymore :Banane10:

I pulled mine off about day 7. All incisions except 2 were completely healed over. I'm glad I did pull them off, because one of the incisions started draining. But the other scabed over by the end of the day, and the draining one healed over within 3 days. I just kept gauze over them to keep dirt out.

Mine are off. They just came off over the weekend. Ok, so I helped them a little, but they are off and not snagging on my shirts anymore!

A couple of mine fell off after about a week, the rest I had to remove after a little over two weeks. I used baby oil to loosen them and to remove the gunk they left behind.

I was banded on October 4th, and my steri strips are still on. I was tols to just trim off the edges with scissors if they came loose, but not to pull the attached parts off. I took off the gauze bandages the day after my surgery. I just keep washing them when I am in the shower with mils soap and Water like I was told, and they really clean still. I have not had any drainage issues at all.

I put up with mine for 12 days and decided my doctor must have used super glue on accident LOL. 2 of mine feel off but the others just would

not and I had my post pp visit. I decided that I would rather take off my bandages rather than the doctor!!

I took mine off after 2 weeks. I was really itchy and couldn't stand them anymore. I was red raw under the strip. The incisions have closed over but the scabbing the strips have left behind are still irratating me. I wish I had pulled them off earlier.

I have the same problem that ellemay has in that mine are itchy and red. I have cut off the corners where the redness is, but they have blistered and are scabby... My incisions look ok and I called the Dr office and told them that I have an allergy to the bandages and they suggested that I get Benadryl Cream and put on them...

Hi

wi was banded 10-17-07. Everything is going ok. My strips are still on. I have gas so bad and I have tried gasx strips and now I am trying Mylanta chewable maximum. I tried soy milk but still have gas pains, under my shoulder and back. Any other suggestions. I am using skim milk for my shakes.thanks

This is my first time posting since my intro.

Welcome Frankie! The only thing that helped me was a heating pad. That plus lots of walking to get the gas moving. For me it was especially bad at night, I could hardly sleep. But it will pass...no pun intended!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
