CarlaG18 9 Posted September 6, 2018 I was sleeved on August 12th. Spent 2nights in the hospital because I wasn't getting in enough fluids. It is Still a struggle to get it in. My sw was 272 and I weigh 257 now. I can see the difference already in my face. I am still on full liquids until 9/2I had my surgery 8/17. I ended up staying in the hospital for 5 days because I couldn't drink the 64 oz. Of Fluid partly because I was sleeping so much from the meds. Get sugar-free or no sugar added popsicles. They help with the fluid intake. I also have a glass of Water with ice Nd a cup of ice cubes to suck on. I had the opposite effect with the water. I couldn't drink it unless it was really cold. CarlaG18 9 Posted September 6, 2018 Having a little trouble with Constipation myself. Some hot Decaf tea is helping. Hi. A friend of mine said to be careful with sugar. In the nutrition class I had to attend post surgery we were told nothing with more than 14 grams of sugar. Sugar can give you constipation. Are you still on pain meds? That will also cause issues with your bowels. Good luck on your Journey.Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app
CarlaG18 9 Posted September 6, 2018 Had surgery on 8/23.... Today awful headache..... Is that normal?Lack of calories and caffeine maybe. Could also be that your not getting enough Fluid.< br>Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app
CarlaG18 9 Posted September 6, 2018 Responding to Kennalb above (not sure if I should do this another way- still learning my way around here and trying to figure out how to crop my picture), my surgery was also 8/21 and if I do like my book seems to say to do, I don't see how I can get in all the liquids and Protein. It says only about 3-4 ounces at meals and an ounce every 15 minutes otherwise. I know I can drink more than an ounce every 15 minutes and feel fine. And when I do the Protein Drink, I don't drink it as slowly as I'm supposed to, and I have felt fine. I have even gone up to 5 ounces and I'm fine. I guess we are just all different. I have quite a headache today but have not had any pain medicine because I was constipated from it. Now that's under control. A concern I have is that I'm on a bunch of medication for other health conditions unrelated to the surgery so I have to crush pills, etc. I have a lot of pain unrelated to it. Figuring out how to deal with all that. I had my sleeve surgery on August 17th. sugar free popsicles and ice cubes help me get the Fluid in. I can't drink the Premier Protein as it makes me really nauseous so my dr had me switch to almond milk. I just hope it works...[emoji1] [emoji1] [emoji1] good luck on your journey.Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Its been a hell of a journey and I and thank all of you that have traveled with me. My new goal is to enjoy The benefits of the second chance i have been given and enjoy this new maintenance phase for the rest of my hopefully much longer life. I too am now on maintenance diet. Planned to lose more but am now happy with where I am and as I can now feel my ribs sticking out - think it’s time to stop and just enjoy my life. So thankful too, life is great 1 clsumrall reacted to this

Browngirls21 4 Posted September 8, 2018 My sleeve was done on 8/14. I see the doctor on Wednesday for my 4 week check and an upgrade to puréed foods. All along I have been having a hard time meeting my liquids and Protein in. Getting better but improvement needed. Eating a Greek yogurt now. But I am not going to complain as I am 41pounds down as of today. But really looking forward to soft foods which is about 2 weeks away.
Jeaniered 183 Posted September 8, 2018 Ok it’s been hard. One year later land I’ve had it all, pain, gas, uncertainty, what to eat, what not to eatq, Protein, Water in take etc., but you should get there in the end! I run, i wear clothes I never dreamed off, I take less meds and I walk with my held held high. I love life!
