August Sleevers-How are you doing??

Recommended Posts

Congrats on your success! I was sleeved in August and am down 115 lbs still have a ways to go but feel so much better. A few people have commented but I think some are hesitant to do so which is fine by me. I struggle to see the change in myself. It’s all in my head. I haven’t bought new clothes fornfear a smaller size won’t fit. Makes no sense I know. My clothes are much looser but still wearable... definitely a journey we’re on!

Dumping syndrome usually happens when taking in to much sugar, or more common with a bypass. Definitely try looking for a diffrent weight loss Dr and get another opinion, could be something else going on. I switched Dr's myself after 3 months of seeing my initial WLS, i much happier and have better support from my weight loss /family physician Dr. Goodluck to you😊

My doctors basically gave up on me. Can't get an appointment. I weighed roughly 330 at surgery and am about 300 now

What r u eating. U should try Dr. Duc vuong on YouTube.he has been more help for me then my Dr. He suggest a green smoothie for Breakfast a big ass salad for lunch minus croutons and bacon bits and bad cheese and a sensible dinner cutting out most carbs and I live by that and it works well. If u need Snacks try a handful of almonds or a small piece of fruit give it a try for a week and see if it budges..save my name we can talk about it maybe u just need support.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
