XYZXYZXYZ1955 675 Posted November 2, 2017 I am yet another person a little envious of those who lose more quickly--I'm generally happy to have lost 53 pounds, yes, but 25 of those were pre-surgery, so it's not really that much since. But there are plenty of reasons I'm not losing more quickly, from my age to my lack of exercise (very, very bad knees). And I'm living with a friend for a few months; she is a classic "shows love by giving food" person, so I can't really hold it against her that she's bringing me doughnuts and Halloween candy--I'm the one who has to be strong enough to say no (and I'm not always, frankly). I'll be back on my own in a few months and won't have this stuff in my apartment . . . so have hope for the future.

When I was walking either to or from the bus stop today, I was thinking that maybe my issue with the relatively slow weight loss is the fact that I have sleep apnea? I mean, I'm doing as much tracking as I can and I'm doing pretty good according to the guidelines my surgeon's office is giving me (albeit, I'm rarely hitting my Protein goal of 85 g per day, so I'm trying to hit a reduced goal of 60 g per day). I'm wondering, once my sleep apnea abates, will my weight loss accelerate?
etc. etc. etc. 440 Posted November 3, 2017 On 11/1/2017 at 8:58 PM, Véronique said: I'm trying some Clif Protein bars, because they have 20 grams of Protein. Today, I tried the chocolate "flavoured" bar and tomorrow, I'll try the other two flavours and review them over on this thread. Clif bars taste pretty decent, but they do look like someone chewed them once already right before they went into the package. Pretty high in carbs, too. Though, if I remember correctly, you're vegetarian, so I gather you have to approach the carbs/protein thing very differently than I do. 1 lindabalseca reacted to this
Jill4329 36 Posted November 3, 2017 I like the Pure Protein Bars. Not every flavor though. I like chocolate deluxe. My doctor who supervised the diet said to count only the sugars and sugar alcohols listed under carbs.

CindyAnne 3 Posted November 4, 2017 I am a fan of the Pure Protein Bars too. I have tried a couple different flavors. The S'Mores flavor didn't do it for me. It was way to sweet tasting and didn't taste like a s'more at all. The chocolate Peanut Butter and the Chocolate Peanut butter caramel are descent. Plus I've been missing me some Reese's Peanut Butter Cups so they help me deal with that craving.

taylorfulfer 20 Posted November 5, 2017 I️ need some major advice! I️ has surgery two months ago and started at 335 and now I’m down to 297! Not a huge loss but it’s fair. My friends want to go to six flags next Friday but I’m so scared I️ won’t fit into the rides. Any advice or experiences of going and fitting into rides? I️ really want to go but I️ don’t want to be embarrassed. Tia

TheNewMrsR 249 Posted November 7, 2017 Has anyone tried drinking alcohol yet ?? I have a special event this weekend where everyone will be drinking. But I’m kinda scared. I heard you can get reallyyyyyy drunk after a sip??? Is this true!!?!! My doctor requires you to sustain for 3 months but I've heard of other doctors that say to wait 6 months or a year. Yes, I have heard that it does affect you much faster with smaller quantities. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

Not a shot. Not three sips. Not an ounce. Two sips. 1 sinead reacted to this

Did not get drunk at all but i did get sick with diarrhea, i believe it was probably the sugar in the drinks. I did not get drunk at all, but felt pretty good:0) needless to say i will be drinking something else next time
