Pinkaranda 10 Posted September 8, 2017 So this is day three post op. Still lot of gas discomfort. Anytime I sip Water I feel like I am going to hang. I'm terrified of actually getting so sick. I've only been walking in my home. Up and down the hall. Did everyone walk right away? And how long before these gagging issues subside? I having the same issue 4 days out and everytime i drink water i feel this horrible pain the gas wont go away making me regret this surgery [emoji20] 1 bigk413 reacted to this
Jeaniered 183 Posted September 8, 2017 I felt the same, didn't want to move or drink Water. Had to force myself and only walked about the house for Five minutes at a time before I was desperate to sit down. I used a hot water bottle to help with the gas. Don't know why, but it helped. When I got to about 8 days I started to feel much better. I'm 30 days today, and so much better, have been on holiday, out for a meal and can go shopping. It will get better honestly. I still get discomfort, don't like food and have no appetite, I get grumpy and tired but have dropped 3 dress sizes and am starting to feel like a new person. 1 bigk413 reacted to this

KimmerAnn 31 Posted September 8, 2017 Wow Jeaniered - good job! Mom on my fourth week and feel much better. I didn't walk the first week. I was so tired and weak. I walked to the bathroom. Second week I waked more. Outside a bit but only about five minutes a few times a day. I had terrible shoulder pain from gas. It was awful!!! That was the worst part but itwent away end of second week- so hang in there I'm hungry often! I eat a bit about every three hours. Dr said that's ok so that made me feel better. I've only lost 18 pounds since surgery, the first two weeks. And nothing since - in fact I've gained two. Buttttt trying to believe it's the third week stall and will kick in again soon good luck everyone!! 1 Jeaniered reacted to this
Allie_Shannon 15 Posted September 8, 2017 I walked 5-6 times a day up and down my driveway as soon as I came home. I had horrible gas pain and it really helped. 1 Jeaniered reacted to this
KateBruin 344 Posted September 8, 2017 I having the same issue 4 days out and everytime i drink Water i feel this horrible pain the gas wont go away making me regret this surgery [emoji20]That pain lasted 3 days total for me. I still have some issues drinking straight water (15 days out) unless I sip like a hamster. sleeping sitting in a chair or on 3-4 pillows helped me sleep. Pacing helped the gas, so did a gas medication.
KateBruin 344 Posted September 8, 2017 hi Everyone... and welcome to the losers bench... i had VSG on 8/11/17. It was a revision from a 2007 Lapband which after 4 years stopped working (shhhh no one knows). No one knows about my VSG either except my hubby and mom.... i don't want to hear negative things... Anyways after 6 years of trying to do it all on my own and failing each time i decided to go under the knife again... i'm almost 4 weeks out... i feel great... no issues with me thank God. I can drink over 100 oz of liquid and maybe eat 5 or 6 oz... which i don't. i'm so scared of stretching myself out. Every time i'm doubting myself i come into the forums to see if someone else has the same questions/issues... In 2007 there really wasn't much information on anything or maybe i just didn't look. i was scare to share my experience and i didn't want people to know i had chosen the "easy" way out. it took me 3 years to loose almost 100 lbs only to fail myself again... but now as i'm older and hopefully wiser i will re train myself so i can succeedI got moved to semi solids yesterday at 15 days out. tuna, avocado, and sweet potato for dinner. I was told 6 oz for meals and like 3 for Snacks. So if eating 5-6 oz doesn't make you full, I'm sure it's safe to eat.

Still only getting about 500 to 600 calories, between the food and 2 scoops of the Protein Powder. I haven't been weighing because I don't want to get depressed if I stop losing, so wait until I go to the doctor's office. Yeah, I don't think my hunger instinct has returned yet. I weigh myself every day using a wifi scale so that I get a chart of my weight over time. Each weigh-in is a data point and it allows me to understand how I'm doing using the surgery. If I see an upward trend, I know that I need to make changes. Here's a chart of my weigh-ins for the last month (note: the last weigh-in before my surgery date was the 27th of August or 27 août):

I saw him on Tuesday for my first post op appointment and it went fine. I had lost down to 246 so he was very pleased. That is a total of 52 pounds overall. I also got into a pair of capris that day that I haven't been able to get into for years. Other than a couple of mishaps with food, I have been feeling very well. With some things I'm getting out of the way this week, I expect to be able to exercise a lot more starting next week. 1 lindabalseca reacted to this

They really emphasize taking advantage of all 5 feedings. I weighed myself last night and was at 229. 14 or so from surgery and the rest from working out. I'm just dying to get back into my heavy workout routine. This walking business is so boring.
Jeaniered 183 Posted September 9, 2017 32 days since op. Seen my doc yesterday, told me I don't need to eat just soft foods anymore. I've to eat normally 3 meals a day plus 2 small Snacks (if needed). I've to count calories, eat high Protein foods first, and stick to 800 calories. Treated myself to cheesecake to Celebrate, 4 mouthfuls and I was done, but it was the first food that I quite enjoyed. Not really liking any food at moment and struggle to find anything I want to eat! Also have hit another stall! Probably not eating enough! 1 Cas54 reacted to this

I don't even know how to do high protein foods under 800 cals. I have a difficult time with 900 and have to walk several miles a day just to more or less have x calories eaten minus calories burned equal about 900. I'm 2 weeks [emoji58]
Jeaniered 183 Posted September 9, 2017 When your over soft feeds Follow a low carb diet an eat fish, chickrn, lean red meat, port loin, lots of veg, seeds, Beans, cheese, low fat yoghurt. I can't walk that far yet, trying to increase this, had a new knee last year so it slows me down. 1 Kristen117 reacted to this
BigAussieGirl 162 Posted September 10, 2017 Hi August sleevers, I had my sleeve on 21 August 2017 and so far I'm down a total of 25 kg (I think that's about 55 pounds). A question - how many calories a day are you consuming? I'm don't have an appointment with my NUT for a few more weeks and I'm interested to see how many calories others are consuming. I'm currently on minced /very soft food. I'm confident getting sleeved is the best life decision I've ever made! 1 hboston reacted to this
